Medical
examination fee
If you want to apply for a
Student Visa, you must have a
medical examination before
your visa can be granted. The
costs for this vary, but you
must have the examination with
an Australian Government
recognized Medical Officer.
Medicals and X-Rays for
Visa extensions in Australia, cost
approx. AUD$200.
Expenses
Generally international
students need about $
12,000+ for living
expenses, including such
things as rent, food,
transport, entertainment,
electricity, telephone,
clothing etc. This does not
include costs of purchasing a
car or furniture.(NOTE: Sydney
and Melbourne are generally
more expensive)
Annual living costs are
calculated by DIMIA for visa
purposes at:
- $12,000 for you (the
main student visa
applicant)
- $4,200 for your spouse
- $2,400 for your first
child
- $1,800 for each extra
child
Guardianship
The Australia Government now
requires all students under 18
years to have a guardian
on-shore, who will be legally
responsible for these young
students, to ensure that their
welfare is protected and that
they have suitable
accommodation. If you do not
have friends or relatives in
the Australian city where you
will study, either your high
school or IAE Study in
Australia can arrange a
suitable guardian for you. The
cost for this is generally
over $ 1,000.-/year, however
services offered vary
depending on who is offering
the service. Ask your iTPL
counselor to give you detailed
information on our
guardianship services.
