Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions provide a wide range of vocational tertiary education courses in fields such as hospitality, tourism, construction, engineering, computer programming and community work.

TAFE colleges are owned, operated and financed by the various Australian State and Territory Governments. These institutions work closely with industry to provide and formally recognize skills that are currently in demand with employers. They focus on delivering bridging and entry courses that offer accessible pathways into study and short courses that deliver particular skills for professional and lifestyle/recreational interests. They also assist in providing apprenticeships and traineeships that enable people to undertake training within employment.
