UK Program for Nurses

ITPL’s UK partners offer both long-term and short-term courses that are customized to the needs of students, taking into account their background and competence level. Specially devised training and development programs are provided, which enable qualified nurses from other countries to upgrade their skills to the level of nurses trained in the UK, while gaining hands-on experience of working in the UK healthcare industry.

With these programs, nurses are given the opportunity to work while gaining a further qualification. Moreover, they benefit from the invaluable experience of working in the U.K., opening doors to global opportunities in the future.

Programs offered:

  • Overseas Nurses Program (ONP) – This program was developed for overseas qualified nurses. It is intended to enable them to adapt previous education and experience to working in a UK healthcare environment. On completion, nurses will be able to meet the requirements made of UK trained nurses.
The core component of the program is 20 days protected learning time (which everyone must undertake) plus, where appropriate, a period of supervised practice in a healthcare setting.
  • BSc. (Hons.) International Nursing Program – Students can gain a U.K. honors degree in nursing in an international learning environment. This program focuses on giving students a critical understanding of the knowledge underlying present day international nursing practice. A key constituent is creating an understanding of strategies for culturally competent care across a range of care settings.
  • NVQ Health & Social Care (Level 3 & 4) – The program is a nationally recognized vocational qualification accredited by OCR, one of the U.K.’s leading awarding bodies. It is intended for care givers who deliver physical, emotional or enabling care to clients with a medium to high degree of dependency. The course is suitable for those working in health or social care; or in the public, private or voluntary sectors.
